Learn something new every day More Info When this lesion develops in the breast tissues, they are referred to as breast lesions. Breast lesions usually come in the form of lumps or swellings in or around the breast area, and they are frequently felt during a self breast examination or when examined by a physician. Some lesions, however, may be present but not felt. These are called non-palpable lesions, and they are mostly detected during a screening mammogram test, which is more like an x-ray of the breast. Male breast cancer is a rare cancer that forms in the breast tissue of men. Though breast cancer is most commonly thought of as a disease that affects women, breast cancer does occur in men. Men diagnosed with male breast cancer at an early stage have a good chance for a cure. Treatment typically involves surgery to remove the breast tissue.
Many breast cancer symptoms are invisible and not noticeable without a professional screening, but some symptoms can be caught early just by being proactive about your breast health. Every person should know the symptoms and signs of breast cancer, and any time an abnormality is discovered, it should be investigated by a healthcare professional. Most people who have breast cancer symptoms and signs will initially notice only one or two, and the presence of these symptoms and signs do not automatically mean that you have breast cancer.
